SoCal Rhythmics is supervised by Iordanka (Dani) Kovatchka – Rhythmic Gymnastics Competitive Team Head Coach. Dani has been coaching competitive rhythmic gymnastics for the last six years in San Diego and before that in her native Bulgaria as well as in Spain. She was awarded Coach of the Year by USA Gymnastics in 2008. As a competitor herself, Dani won a gold medal in 1990 at the European Championships and a silver medal in the 1991 Senior World Championships.
Berlin Lovio
Assistant Coach Berlin Lovio has been involved in dance and gymnastics since the age of 4. She competed in rhythmic gymnastics through level 9, trained with the USAG Youth Elite Squad, and was among the top athletes both regionally and nationally. Throughout high school at Rancho Buena Vista High she was on the varsity dance team, where she was both dancer and choreographer. When not coaching, Berlin is currently a student at Mira Costa Community College and hopes to become a high school English teacher.
